Financial Services > Student Loans > Advice > Plan ahead for the summer
If you can hold out until the end of your last term, then your
range of options for summer jobs will be a much greater than working
part-time. There are two major reasons for this - firstly, you'll
be all to devote of all your attention to a summer job, whereas
part-time work has to be fitted around your busy timetable.
Secondly, you're not restricted to the highly competitive job
market which surrounds any university campus. You can look much
further afield for summer employment options, and if you had hoped
to travel during the summer holidays, then one of your best options
may be to combine your need for income with your wanderlust instinct.
You may wish to consider either enrolling on a work and travel
programme, or taking advantage of the liberalised European labour
market, which will allow you to work in any other EC country.

For the ultimate in summer work and travel experiences, then
you may wish to consider a sales and leadership programme such
as that offered by the Southwestern Company, which gives you
the opportunity run your own bookselling franchise in the United
States or the UK for the summer.
