New research by the National Union of Students (NUS) has revealed the impact the economic recession is having on the behaviour of Britain's latest graduates .
The NUS study shows that more than a third of UK students are planning to delay job hunting by entering post-graduate education .
In addition, eight in ten students polled said they were either "concerned" or "very concerned" about the threat of unemployment as a result of the financial downturn.
Wes Streeting, president of the NUS, commented: "It is clearly an extremely worrying time for all students, particularly with tuition fees leaving them in record levels of debt ."
"The great distress being experienced by students and their families in the middle of this economic crisis puts the grossly insensitive demands of vice chancellors for even higher fees into stark perspective."
Graduates who are concerned about their job prospects are advised to work with a graduate recruitment agency to improve their chances of finding work this summer.
