A further education student loan is to become available in 2013, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has revealed.
Applications for the new funding scheme - which can be accessed by anyone over the age of 24 who is studying a course at level three or above - can be made from March 2013.
Published in A Guide to Further Education Loans for Colleges and Training Organisations, the report stated people will be able to apply in advance of courses set to get underway in the 2013/14 academic year.
Those who decide to take out the loan will only be required to start paying back the cash once they have completed the course and are earning in excess of £21,000.
The report noted providers will have to offer certain guidance to learners, adding: "As a college or training organisation you will need to work with the individual to identify a suitable learning programme to meet their identified needs as per your current processes."
BIS is a department that is home to around 2,500 staff and has an extra 500 people working for UK Trade and Investment in the UK.
