Young people should be careful about which courses and universities they select during clearing, it has been claimed.
Student finance can weigh heavily on the mind of university hopefuls and those using the clearing system should not automatically choose the cheapest place to study, it has been claimed.
Push.co.uk said would-be students should be "very, very careful" as clearing can be confusing and scary as thousands of people battle it out to take up leftover spots on class registers.
Editor Johnny Rich said the process is not as much of a system as people think, despite the best efforts of UCAS .
"This does not always work out well for either the university or the student, but particularly not the student because they may find themselves doing courses they wouldn't otherwise have considered at universities they wouldn't have otherwise considered, in parts of the country they wouldn't have otherwise considered," he warned.
Mr Rich added that it is essential that people think about their choice, even if they have to do it very quickly.
